Celiac Awareness!
Nic is the little hottie on the right. |
Today is the start of May and with that, Celiac Awareness Month! My best friend, Nic has Celiac and she is really passionate about it. I remember when she was sick before being diagnosed and how miserable she was. I remember even after she was diagnosed how hard it was for her when she was adjusting to her new lifestyle and all of the hardships she went through. I love her and want to support her in this so I urge you to go to her blog, Elephant Hour, and read her story and -- if you are able -- make a donation to Celiac awareness and research. Enter to win! Also, spread the word that this month, May, is Celiac Awareness Month.
Thank you!!!

Weekend In Review
I spent nearly the whole weekend with my vamily. On Friday, Nic, Dal, Nic's cousin Josh, and I went to the movies to see Liam Neeson's new movie, Unknown. It was pretty good but seemed like it was four hours long and we almost got accosted by [possibly gun wielding] children.
On Saturday, I went over to Nic's and while the men and her Grandma sat in the living room watching HGTV, Nic, FM [Nic's mom. I call her FM because she's my foster mother. She called me FD], and her Aunt Theresa who thinks I look and act eerily like her daughter who is also named Ashley, were in the kitchen cooking. We made quite the feast. Nic and I slaved over kaboodle [vegan mac 'n cheese] while the others made chicken strips and mashed potatoes. Personally, I enjoyed kaboodle, cauliflower, and carrots. We also made rum margaritas. Excellent.
It was a good time. I love my Nickle.
